Giselle is wide-eyed with empty-headed concern... poor Launcelot doesn't seem to have much self-esteem, and she is worried that the fair maiden won't get her pink unicorn and the love of a hero after all...

IC: "Pure of heart?" Launcelot questioned. "You mean I have be pure of heart to attract a unicorn?"

He leaned against a tree.

"Um, that's gonna be kinda hard... cause, I... uh... I'm definately not pure of heart. And wishing that love will attract the creature... "

"Can't you get it to come to you? I mean you're pure of heart and all."

[rp]FINDING UNICORNS FOR DUMMIES:

The Unicorn is most often found in :

*flower meadows hidden from the public
    *in woods and forests
    *near waterfalls
    *where nature remains wild
*near apple and cedar trees (especially on moonlit nights)
*where holly grows wild and free (especially between July 8 and August 4)
    *at spots where butterflies gather
    *near streams abundant with dragonflies
    *here strawberries grow wild
    *where swans are found

It was not a trail of crumbs she gave

to find the Unicorn and very soon
so he can have his Honeymoon.

and off she flew and left the groom
to her cozy bed neath the spotted mushroom.

"Um... I think we're gonna need to head to an orchard town. Maybe one with apples. Or a wood town, one with cedars. Isn't Wigtown a wood town? Yes! And there's a lovely meadow next to the hill north of it. I seem to remember a stream too.. I don't know about dragonflies or waterfalls... but since this is a fantasy RP, I suppose anything is possible."

Turning to the pure of heart virgin, "Let's go. We have to hurry. I don't know why, but I think Catwoman is after the unicorn too. It's just a hunch."

CHEATER

Launcelot... Launcelot... Wherefore art thou a hero?

'Twas positively absurd! To think that the man believed himself deserving enough for a maiden's hand. A maiden so immaculate and unattainable that she dares ask for the impossible pink unicorn. Can he honestly say HE had captured it? Whatever maiden he sought shall never be impressed, and nary a spot of admiration because of that generous help he received on this quest. The fair maiden might as well marry the virgins and the pixie, for the roguish man truly had no worth of his own.

Launcelot wrote:One eye opened... "I'm allergic to cat's you know.

But you see, at least the Virgin had an advantage. For she was real and raw and catty, that when she overcomes the unicorn and the pathetic entourage that was the Launcelot crew, the glory was truly befitting. It would be by Virgin's insurmountable wrath and power alone.

Virgin followed the remnants of faery dust that still dwelt upon the wild brush of the forest. She could feel the woods pulsing with magic and with whip in hand, she cracked upon every haven of nature so that all the noises of the forests soon wove itself into an eerie evil melody. The Virgin lavished honey upon her chest, the sticky scent permeating the dense air of the cool Winter. First, it was sexy. But importantly, it was rumoured to lure in the evil spirits and dark beasts. At least Virgin would try this old wive's tale as this misty search dragged on much longer than she expected. Especially with the Launce brigand eager to step on her tail, one had to work faster than a cat could purr "meow".

Very well then...

She alights on the top of the mushroom and begins to chant, her hand filled with pixie dust.

[rp]By the light of the Moon, By the Light of the star
Bless the wanderer who must needs travel far
Bless their jounrey as they set course and
Provide for them the sacred Horse.[/rp]

The wee fae then leaned her tiny lips to her wee hand and blew and sparkling pixie dust covered two ants marching by and suddenly in their place stood huge horses black as midnight, and the horses eyes were wild for a moment as they stared at one another then just as suddenly looked down with a start as they heard a might sneeze in the grasses below.

She stood shooing them toward the woods edge and the rag tag travelers standing about looking at one another as if an answer would fall from the stars.

The horses suddenly understood their destiny and galloped from the wood toward the waiting man and his entourage.

Surely thought the wee sprite, the journey can begin now.

Launcelot wrote:"A horse... um..." Launcelot was suddenly acutely aware of the fact that he didn't have a horse.

When what should appear galloping through the brush but two black horses that seemed very eager to help him on his quest for the pink unicorn.

"Seems I do, in fact, have a horse or two," Launce smiled at Giselle. "Fate loves me."

Pulling Giselle up behind him on the first horse and allowing the remainder of his silent entourage to partake of the other horsey, they bolted off through the trees towards Wigtown.

Counting on his fingers...one, two, three nodes to where we're going. Horsey travel increases node travel by one. Carry the two, subtract the three. Ha! we'll be there by the time this post is done being typed!"

With a wicked smile and a determined look upon his face, Launcelot galloped towards the meadow.

"Do you smell honey?" he turned to Giselle. "Because I distinctly smell honey... honey and perhaps leather... maybe even honey smeared on leather."

Pausing for effect.

"I feel strangely drawn towards the smell as though I were a dark beast under some sort of spell. Odd, don't you think?"

Unconsciously, Launcelot veered towards the provocative smell, continuing to gallop...

"Honey, leather... and marshmellows."

The unicorn was special, sacred, and must be allowed to roam free. She had heard such terrible, vicious rumours, that a man was abusing the good faith of a pure, innocent girl to lure it into a trap. She must find the unicorn and protec... oh shiny! NO, FOCUS!

She must find the unicorn and protect it, she must focus on her task, she must not be distracted by the pretty, shiny things.

--Faery_o_the_wood wrote:The thundering hooves nearly knocked her into the next glen but the wee sprite managed to grab a snippet of the horses black silken tail hair as he galloped past and hanging on for dear life she slowly made her way up the tail and among the skirts of the fair lady and at last safely into the saddle bag and her flashing eyes were peeking out the side from under the leather canopy that was created over her head. A torrent of sneezing as dust and bits of leaves crushed beneath the horse's hooves swirled and sailed about. She was able to grab a twig that sailed up and held it ever so tightly in her tiny hand.

Her keen senses soon picked up the sticky sweet scent of the golden gift of the bees and she became very aware that more than faery mischief was afoot in the forest. She felt the horse slow and veer off course and she stamped her little foot inside the pouch ( leaving his provisions of bread a bit worse for the wear)

OH for the love of Oberon, is this man to be waylaid by every female in the land in his quest for his true love? True love knows no such distraction. It plots a course and even death does not deter! Alas humans are falliable and weak so in the name of love she would forgive his failings and wake him from his spell.

The faery knew the wiles of human females far surpassed the human male's ability to detect and resist and twas the failing of many a male to sacifice himself on the alter of a female's passion and become slave to her losing himself in the process. It was a sad tale of humanity seen far too often in the land of men. Now to save him from the Jezebel that lurks in females? Control, guilt, manipulation and rebellion to get what they want. Now to remind him of what HE has decided he wants and needs!

She climbed upon the loaves and apple in his saddlebag and standing on her tippy toes, nearly teetering out of the pouch and imperiling herself under the horses hooves, she took the twig fast in hand and began to poke him with the sharp end in the firm flesh of his arse. Sharp pokes! over and over, nearly drawing blood she did!

Pausing for a moment to regain her footing and waiting his reaction before she began the assault over again and finally getting his attention!

Launcelot wrote:You see... this is the sort of mess Launcelot knew would happen. Not only does he have the nigh impossible task of finding, catching, and delivering a pink unicorn to his beloved Marshie... he now finds his backside being stabbed repeatedly by a Pixie whilst his dear friend Fae comes plummeting from the sky, only to blame him for her predicament.

The horse... the poor horse, reared as Fae appeared most unceremoniously in front of it. Add that to the fact that Launcelot thought that a very angry hornet was attacking him... led the hero of our story to fall from his horse... fall very hard from his horse... flat onto his back.

Lifting his head slowly a few moments later, "Why must you fall from the sky, directly in front of me, Fae? Was there no other place available for you to land?"

Briefly checking to see if all his parts worked, he sat up. "Do you smell that? That unbelievable smell. I must find it. I really must."

Smiling at Giselle and Fae, "You should come with me."

Lifting his nose to the wind, he caught the direction of the scent once again. His eyes a bit glazed over, Launcelot went off again.... in pursuit of a woman in leather, smeared with honey.

OOC: I could get married far more quickly without the sub-plots... but since Marshie is behind the whole thing, I suppose she's just trying to make it difficult. All for true love.......... Rolling Eyes

ARE THEY AFTER THE UNICORN?! I CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN! Conservitis unicornes! a high pitched, tiny voice cries, only registering as a tiny squeal to anyone above a few feet tall.

Her transparent, sparkly wings flutter furiously as she rushes through the forest in an attempt to discover where the foul creatures tainting it lie. She halts abruptly at the sound of voices. What is this? A group of humans in this forest? What are they searching for? Which of our mythical beings is in danger? Oooh such a pretty horsey! Her tiny eyes focused upon the horses, her easily distracted mind forgetting the humans as she stays hidden in the trees, eyeing the horses with wide, shining eyes.

OOC: Are you impling this is not enjoyable for you? You have to earn such a lovely, loved young lady Launce, you can't just steal everybody away Wink

--Faery_o_the_wood wrote:Suddenly she felt herself being raised toward the Heavens amidst much cursing from the man and the shrill screech of the fair lady who was fighting not to lose her seat upon the ebony creature that had been spooked by ....by.....Oh what sort of Magic WAS this? and who be that shade appearing before them most unexpectedly and even more unceremoniously.

The horses hooves met the ground once more and the man was thrown from the saddle to the ground and landed with an oopmh. The tiny pixie upended in the saddle bag toppled out and landed just there above his navel and she was acutely aware she needed cover at once! She dive into his overcoat pocket and took several deep breaths before kicking him with her tiny foot just for good measure

She began to search among the contents of the pocket, hastily seeking something with which to draw him from this place and the imminent danger his quest to gift his beloved had led him into. A bone button, a broken ribbon of silk, a ladies handkerchief smudged and wrinkled, some leaves, a marble, a bit of old crusty bread and a map of some sort with names and stars by each scrawled upon it and a half empty flask. Bah! what is all this? Not a sharp object in sight.

She abandons her search to see what the voices are saying, The man was standing with glazed over eyes, and nose to the wind, the fair maiden was waiting his instruction and he stood there transfixed, spellbound.

She sighs a very dramatic sigh. Oh this one is a hard case! She needed help on this one and so produced a tiny flute from her pouch and laying her lips upon it began to play an tune that was a distress call to the one who could hear it.

As the notes wafted upward from his pocket the sky began to darken and the clouds began to gather and the first drops of rain did splash down on the party standing in the wood. The cold rain soon broke the spell that held him and his eyes grew bright and clear once more.

The wee sprite pocketed her flute once more and tugging on a loose string she swung up to the pocket opening and whispered :

At a time that is not a time,
in a place that is not a place,
on a day that is not a day...

May the one who seeks be the one who find
the very thing that is on his mind.
May he find the thing that eludes him still
May he find true love if this is his will.

At a time that is not a time,
in a place that is not a place,
on a day that is not a day...

May the one who seeks find his heart's desire
May he find that which will light his fire
May he find that which will hold him fast
and may it always and forever last.

And with a flick of her wrist the pixie sent a shower of magic dust swirling upward and out of the pocket, the air was a swirl with irredescene for a tiny moment and if you blinked you missed it.

She waited to see which path the man would take now as the rain stopped and the sky cleared almost as quickly as it had begun.
